Welcome to Traveling with the Teagues

  • Hello world!

Hi, welcome! I thought I would introduce us and give a little back ground on who we are and what you will likely see here. I’m Sarah, and together with my husband Jarrod, we are Traveling with the Teagues. 2 people who met by chance at a Chris Stapleton concert 9 years ago and have been living our best lives since.

While we are not yet true empty nesters, as we are still in the trenches of raising a teenager, guiding young adults and dealing with more dog hair then we ever thought possible, however, we try to live for the quieter moments of just us. We both have full time jobs with goals of someday having the ability to travel exclusively. Until then, we live for the weekends.

We started exploring and traveling pretty quickly. Journeys on motorcycles, (Jarrod was finally able to upgrade this year after having the same Harley for 20 years!) in cars, on planes, and the occasional snowmobile (that one I can live without.) We have traveled for concerts, birthdays, anniversary getaways and just because it’s a lazy Sunday. Together we have been as far north as Millinocket, Maine and as far south as NOLA. We have taken extended motorcycle trips to Vermont and Lake George and to the northwestern side of Maine. I have fallen in love with Moosehead Lake area, specifically the Birches Resort in Rockwood. We have done 2 long road adventures, 1 to eastern Tennessee/northern Georgia for our honeymoon and the other, in a not so comfortable U-haul to move friends to Slidell, Louisiana.

Within the last 2 years we ventured into camping. Which kinda went something like this:
me: I want to get a camper, Jarrod: I want to get a boat…..
we got the camper 😂 love you babe!
Starting in a pop-up, cause at this age no one wants to wake up on the ground , and quickly upgraded to a Rockwood Mini Lite Travel Trailer, much easier setup, our own bathroom and heat & A/C.

A lot of our escapades revolve around finding or riding on trains, if they are/were steam, even better. We enjoy all things historical and buildings with great architecture. I have this obsession with photographing church steeples and small town posts offices.

It doesn’t matter which direction we go, we enjoy getting out and seeing what the local and not so local places have to offer. We are always ready to take in the beauty of nature, try new food and explore new spots.

In the beginning Jarrod always use to ask me where do you want to ride today and I always respond with I only need 3 things

    1. We are together
    2. We are riding
    3. Take me someplace I’ve never been before.

Those 3 things still hold true today, almost 9 years in. He manages to always find something that amazes me. Our adventures, have been and always will be my favorite things.

Combing our love to travel and my penchant for writing I thought it was past time to start sharing our stories. Over time I will likely post pictures from our previous getaways and favorite locations, there have been so many already that we should re-visit. We will share day trips and longer vacations, local points of interest, favorite spots and places to get a good drink, fantastic food and yummy treats. Along with recipes for what I’m cooking and recommendations and links for things that just make life better.

Welcome to our little corner of this big world, where we believe in kindness, compassion and leaving the earth a better place. Traveling with the Teagues invites you to join us as we live our best lives together.
